Protected landscape area Český kras [ Protected Landscape Area ]Calcareous area with numerous karst phenomena, unique from the viewpoint of world stratigraphy and the paleontology of the older Palaeozoic. Communities of rock steppes, forest steppes and broadleaved forests with a very rich flora and fauna have been preserved here. For certain species of insects and molluscs this is the only location in the Czech Republic where they occur.
