S. Freud's Square, Příbor

A sandstone baroque statue placed on a high prismatic pedestal situated at the middle of the square. There is a low-post railing around the pedestal. In front of the corner posts of the pedestal, statues of St Roch and St Florian are placed on prismatic bases. The life-sized Statue of the Virgin Mary is dressed in a lavishly pleated robe and resting with its left leg carrying a large Christ-child on a globe enwound with a snake. In the drapery of the Virgin Mary's dress , diagonal, soft and deep pleats, which respects the body capacity, prevails. The ring of stars around the Mary's head and the cross radial nimbus of Christ-child are coated with gold. This sculpture, dating from 1713, is an example of the top baroque production of the Moravian regional sculpture centre.
