History of Hrabětice [ History ]

The village Hrabětice was founded in 1772-1776 during plotting of then unprofitable Blahutovice's yard. It belonged to Hranice's demense of Ditrichštejns', after the owner's wife it was named Grafen Dorfel, later Grafendorf, in Czech Hrabětice. The village was
occupied by German population and was evidently the smallest village of Nový Jičín's district. It was assigned to a parish in Jeseník nad Odrou.
A great part of the cadaster is covered by forest called Hrabětice's forest that is nowadays nature preserve of rare flora.
On village seal acquired on the occassion of foundation of the village there was displayed by course of name heraldic earl crown with nine visible hooks with pearls, later used even on official village stamps.
